Require cigarette style warning labels on all single-use plastic packaging.

What the petition asks
Manufacturers often shirk their environmental responsibility, writing "not currently recycled" on their single use plastics. To illustrate the environmental damage caused, cigarette style warning labels should be placed on all non-reusable, non-biodegradable and non-recyclable packaging.
Manufacturers can currently imply that some other body or institution has failed to provide a solution to the waste they create. They should be forced to take ownership of the problem. Images and text highlighting the damage caused to the environment will provide an incentive to find less damaging alternatives. Messages such as "This packaging may harm the environment" and images of littered beaches and entangled wildlife could be used.
