Make the DVLA'S van conversion registration requirements clearer and more fair

Closed 81 signatures

What the petition asks

Many van conversions get knocked back because they look like..... Vans. It is a legal requirement to re-register a conversion with the DVLA as a "motorcaravan", as stated on the gov.co.uk site. currently the requirements say nothing about what should be done to the exterior, meaning few will pass.
Even with the word camper written on my van on all four sides, clearly visible in large writing, as well as other exterior modifications. My van failed to be registered as it was deemed "not in the spirit of a motorhome on the exterior" when asked for the criteria the DVLA use to identify a motorcaravan on the exterior they refuse and read of a script. Some pass and some fail there seems to be no set criteria for this process.
