Widen the rules around recall petitions to ensure fair representation

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Following the recent struggles with Jared O’Mara it seems fair and reasonable to widen the restrictions on recall to ensure other constituents don’t find themselves in a similar situation. Expectations around minimum attendance and change of party would ensure that this situation won’t happen again.
Current rules can be found here. They cover just 3 situations:
1. They are suspended from parliament
2. They have convicted of false expenses claims
3. They are convicted of a crime

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We understand that you'd like the law on the recall of MPs to change, but we're not sure exactly what changes you'd like to see.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
