What the petition asks
Motorway services are required to provide toilet facilities for drivers. They should also be required to provide drinking water taps to enable refilling ones own water containers. This could have a huge impact on the use of single-use plastic bottles, as well as contributing to road safety.
Whilst many coffee franchises will refill your own water bottle, not all drivers are able to get into the concessions areas. Some drivers will simply not stop, even though they could do with a break and some fresh water to drink.
If drinking water taps were available, preferably outside the building, everyone could get fresh water to drink, using their own container. This could have a huge impact on the use of single-use plastic bottles, as well as contributing to road safety.
