Petition · past parliament

The PM should meet representative voters every month, one-to-one on live TV.

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

Each month, ten voters will meet PM for five minutes each, one-to-one on live TV.
They will be selected by an independent company to be representative of the area the programme is coming from that month.
Programme will come from all areas of UK in course of a year.
Proposal would improve democracy in UK.
It would significantly increase political engagement, as people see others like themselves in proper conversation with PM.
It would greatly increase the range of people who set the national political agenda. Currently, it is set by a narrow group who are predominantly middle-aged, well-off, white and London-based.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

This would be a decision for the Prime Minister and for broadcasters, not the UK Government or Parliament.
