What the petition asks
The plastic epidemic is one we are constantly reminded of. We have a huge problem with single use plastic and the disposal of it, which is having a huge impact on our environment. If we don’t do something about it the problem is only going to get worse.
World wide, 13,000-15,000 pieces of plastic are dumped into the ocean every day.
Every year, 6.4 million tonnes are dumped into the ocean.
At least two thirds of the world’s fish stocks are suffering from plastic ingestion. And if you are eating the fish, you’ll be ingesting it too!
We can all make our own small changes to everyday life to try and help this plastic epidemic but a change like this could be the big push towards solving a problem we can no longer ignore.
