What the petition asks
Unfortunately, far too many people are still under the common misconception that goldfish bowls provide an adequate home for a goldfish – and most of the time, this isn’t even their fault.

2. Gold fish are high waste causing a build up of poisonous ammonia
3. Stunted growth due to the small size of the bowl
4. Suffocation due to lack of water movement and oxygen
5. Cruelty often flushed down the toilet due to large size

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you'd like new rules around the sale of goldfish bowls. But we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
You could start a new petition asking to ban the sale of goldfish bowls, if that's something you'd like to see happen.
