What the petition asks

Following the horrific Murder of PC Andrew Harper laws need changing to be a deterrent.
So all criminals involved in any crime resulting in a murder are all charged with the murder
In the case of the murder of a Police Officer a mandatory sentence of
Life meaning Life with no parole is needed

This extends and involves Knife crime all gang members present
are charged with the murder of a victim of knife crime.
To be a deterrent to stop and not to carry a knife
Any person found also to be carrying a knife an additional sentence needs adding on top of any sentence to that of 1 year per inch of a
knife blade.
In the case of any criminal offence where the criminal is carrying a knife also an additional sentence is added on top of any sentence of 1 year per inch of a knife blade

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

Make the punishment for any attack on an emergency service provider life.
