What the petition asks
Publish an assessment of the human costs of no-deal Brexit (relative to remaining), including "How many people are likely to [X] as a result of no-deal Brexit?", where [X] is {die, suffer worsened health, lose their jobs, have lower discretionary income, be forced into poverty, be made homeless}.
The aggregate assessment of the majority of informed observers is that no-deal Brexit would incur:
- a severe logistical shock, disrupting supplies of food & medicine (https://www.ft.com/content/6fa48004-d538-11e9-a0bd-ab8ec6435630)
- a potentially worse recession than that following the 2008 financial crisis (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-49027889)
- a possible return to NI sectarian violence (https://www.lbc.co.uk/radio/presenters/michael-crick-ireland-troubles-no-deal-brexit/)
