What the petition asks
Mental ill health costs employers in the UK £30 billion every year through lost production, and absence.
Promoting positive mental health in your workplace can be beneficial. Staff with good mental health are more likely to perform well, have good attendance levels and be engaged in their work.

There are a lot of employers that do not know how to approach mental health within the workplace, especially when someone is off sick due to their condition.
This is not necessarily the fault of the employer, but rather they have not been informed on how to better manage mental health at work.
This is why all UK businesses should have in place some form of mental health framework which makes the workplace safe for all. A good example is the HSE's Management Standards.
