What the petition asks

It is a fallacy that MPs are voted for personally, they are voted for by Party and that Party’s Manifesto.

Any Member of Parliament who resigns the Whip or who has the Whip withdrawn from them must immediately resign, but may stand for re-election in a By Election, if selected, by another Party.

Any Member of Parliament who crosses the floor of the House, or who leaves the Party on whose Manifesto they were elected, must immediately resign as a Member of Parliament, but may stand for re-election in a By Election, if selected, by another Party.

By Elections to be held as soon as is allowed for in Parliamentary rules.

Why it was rejected
