Petition · past parliament

A change of prime minister without a general election should prompt an election.

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

The leaders UK parties shape their policy. They are chosen by methods that do not refer to the broader electorate. It is undemocratic that the leader is changed without reference to the broader electorate. It should be mandatory that a change of leader of the ruling party trigger a general election.
