Remove John Bercow as the Speaker of the House of Commons.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

The Speaker of the House is supposed to remain impartial and not impose “his opinions” on debates and discussions. John Bercow has been extremely biased in favour of allowing remain questions and debates.
I feel he did a good job for his 1st 7 years as the Speaker but the last 3 years, since the Brexit referendum, has brought the bias out in him and as such I feel he is no longer fit for the job

Why it was rejected

It was about honours or appointments, which petitions cannot cover.

We can't accept petitions about appointments, which includes calling for people to be sacked or to resign.

In any case, the resignation of the Speaker is a personal decision for the Speaker, and is therefore not the responsibility of the Government or Parliament.

If you're concerned about a particular policy or decision that's the responsibility of Government or Parliament, you could start a petition about that.
