What the petition asks
The Fixed Term Parliament Act was introduced to support the recent coalition government, however all it has done is ultimately remove the power to call an election from the government and handed it to the opposition. This is proving to be detrimental to U.K. democracy. The Act should be repealed.
The government and the U.K. electorate are being held to ransom by the opposition parties and our constitution is being eroded as a result. Repeal the Fixed Term Parliament Act.
