Rejected

What the petition asks
The majority of the UK has a voting age of 18 whereas Scotland the voting age is 16. This petition is to propose that Parliament discusses a bill reducing the voting age for the whole of the UK to 16. If you're old enough to pay tax then surely you're old enough to vote. That's democracy surely?
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure what votes you would like the voting age reduce to 16 for. The voting age in General Elections across the UK is 18, including in Scotland.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
