Children Asd dissorders to be allowed uniform adjustment to include no tie.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

I have an asd son,I have worked with ASD 17 years and am member of parental support groups within which this in high on agender.
Secondary uniform code is too strict in tie and jacket for sensory needs. Option for relaxation should be set in place.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

This is a matter for individual schools.

The Department for Education has published guidance to schools which says school uniform polices should "consider carefully reasonable requests to vary the policy, in particular to meet the needs of any individual pupil to accommodate their religion or belief, ethnicity, disability or other special considerations."

You could raise the issue with the school's Headteacher, senior leadership team or Board of Governors.
