Implement all the EU anti tax avoidance directive (ATAD) and its future updates

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

The EU has created the ATAD to ensure that the burden of supporting services through taxation falls fairly on individuals and businesses. Employed people have no choice but to pay tax but some individuals and corporations avoid paying their share by exploiting loopholes and tax havens
It is important that ATAD is fully implemented and that UK tax avoidance strategies remain in line with those of The EU. Tax avoidance is a problem of globalisation and needs to be tackled on an international basis. To have high quality services we need tax revenues.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

The Finance Act 2019 includes measures to ensure the UK is compliant with the Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive, so we're not sure exactly what you'd like the UK Government or Parliament to do.
