What the petition asks
We all know ticket touting is a problem. Some venues now ask ID is supplied on entry to help prevent unauthorised re-sale of tickets. We would like it to be considered that ticket re-sell sites should be strictly regulated and it to be made illegal to re-sell a ticket for over its face value.
According to respected live music magazine IQ, based on resales from Viagogo, StubHub, Get Me In! & Seatwave the UK’s secondary ticketing market was worth more than £1bn per year, gross transactional value, in 2017. Around half of this total was estimated to derive from music events.
