Protect Green Belt land around Harlow and Epping

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Concerns are raised for the proposed developments in and around Harlow, Essex and in relation to the National Planning Policy Framework:
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/810197/NPPF_Feb_2019_revised.pdf
A number of developments in particular are being planned on the GREEN BELT LAND surrounding Harlow.

Latton Priory is just one example.
Building on Latton Priory would destroy Gibberd's original vision of Harlow:
https://www.gibberd.com/projects/harlow-master-plan
by desecrating the green highland to the south of the town and damaging the eco system of the woodlands.

The NPPF contains specific reference to PROTECTING GREEN BELT LAND in England.

Why is this not being enforced?

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

This is a matter for your local planning authority. You could raise the issue with local councillors who represent you. You can find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them, here:

You might like to sign this petition, which is about developments on Green Belt land more broadly:

Cease all new developments on Greenbelt and Greenfield sites across the country.

You're more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.

You could start a new petition calling for a clear action that is the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament. You'll need to give your full name or initial plus surname.
