Require Private Hire Companies to be responsible for insuring cars and drivers

Companies such as Uber have been convicted for permitting their drivers and vehicles to drive uninsured. If these companies were responsible for insuring their cars and drivers, compliance checks would be simplified and passengers could be sure they were insured.

The Government should amend the Road Traffic Act 1988 Section 143 to make it clear that private hire companies are responsible for insuring their cars and drivers.
