What the petition asks
Downe Hospital was a newly built hospital which had a 24 hr emergency department, this was taken away from us and left us with a type 2 emergency unit operating Monday-Friday 8am-8pm
This hospital covers a wide scope of patients from all areas or strangford, kilclief,Downpatrick and Ardglass plus all the other surrounding areas, our nearest hospital is the Ulster hospital in dundonald, this is 28.5 miles away 47 mins by car.If u take Ill after 8pm this is the nearest hospital to get treatment from, this hospital is always under great pressure with numbers coming in to their own emergency department without having to take the extra load from the Downe hospitals area past 8pm
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
