Petition · past parliament

Parents forcing their children into forced marriages must pay for their rescue.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

The forced marriage act came into force in 2007 (1.) Since then the forced marriage unit has rescued many vulnerable young people from forced marriage. It is an expensive process, burdening the taxpayer. Those who do this should foot the bill as part of the criminal process as a further deterrent.
