Petition · past parliament

We demand a general election immediately to resolve the current impasse.

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

The current Parliament is unrepresentative of public opinion and is seeking to prevent the will of the majority of the population through any possible means while preventing an election that would provide clear and responsible governance.
The majority vote to leave in the Referendum on the EU.
The commitment in manifestos of major political parties to respect the outcome of that referendum
The clear evidence available in Hansard and the media reporting of deliberate attempts to derail the outcome of the Referendum.
The passing in Parliament of Article 50.
Evidence that a second referendum would attempt to distort the question of membership in order to change the original outcome.
