What the petition asks
Currently, those who have died through conditions attributed to their service are not remembered by name anywhere in the Country. Those who have brought the battle home with them, and have later taken their lives due to CPTSD, have died as if they were killed on a battle field.
If we are saying that there is no stigma attached to mental health, then we should show that by honouring their sacrifice and their deaths with a named memorial.
Equally, if someone returns from battle with physical injuries that later claim their life, they should also be honoured in the same way as if those injuries had taken their lives while on the battle field- it is no different.
