What the petition asks
UK Government has elected to invest £1 billion of Green Investment Funds into fracking projects in Argentina. This money should be reserved for carbon neutral technologies and resources, and is, at best, contrary to the government's declaration of a climate emergency.
'UK Export Finance promised in 2017 to offer loans totalling £1bn to help UK companies export their expertise in “infrastructure, green energy and healthcare” to invest in Argentina’s economy.
Instead official records reveal the government’s plan to prioritise support for oil companies, including BP, which are fracking in Argentina’s shale heartlands.'
