What the petition asks
Stop MPs payrise until vital services are out of crisis
After years of cuts our NHS and police forces are in crisis our streets are no longer safe with 2 few police, many low paid workers are living in poverty and relying on food banks and shambolic universal credit top ups. Public sector workers have had minimal payrises over the last few years .. businesses don't give pay rises when they are not running well parliament should be the same .... it's about time our voice was heard
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for MPs' pay. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
