Freeze MP's Pay Until Budget Cuts Stop and Public Services Spend increase by 25%

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

We want the Government to stop taking wage increases and expenses increases until such times that public services spending has increased 25% above record highest since records began.
Why we want this is because despite years of cuts MP's and The House Of Lords have increased their pay from our taxes instead of investing that money into our public services and until they improve them instead of cutting them they should not receive any more wage rises until they improve out public services.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for MPs' pay. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
