What the petition asks
When someone runs to become a member of parliament they should be required to state what they salary expectations including expenses are This should be legally binding and should be put next to their name on the Ballot paper
Is anyone else fed up seeing MPs get salaries and expenses that most ordinary people who fund them can only dream about? Many jobs these days ask your salary expectations on your application as well. why should MPs be any different
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for MPs' pay. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
