What the petition asks
Hold A referendum and Change the scheduling of Cannabis from Drug to Herb
For too long now certain people have lead false allegations against the herb cannabis, calling for it to be banned and have illegal status for it's danger to the public. Cannabis is the least harmful herb there is. There is 1000's of scientific evidence to prove Cannabis is a plant and a useful herb, it only becomes a drug when made in a lab. Please add your voice for a referendum on Cannabis now
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
We understand that you want the Government to review how cannabis is treated, but it's not clear what action you would like the Government to take to achieve this. Cannabis is a Class B controlled drug the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, but the Government also bans and restricts a range of herbal ingredients.
You could start a petition calling for the Government to hold a referendum on declassifying cannabis, if that is what you would like to happen.
