What the petition asks

Homework is draconian and was originally intended as a punishment to those who misbehaved in the classroom and was conducted to do the homework at home as a form of punishment.

In modern society it should not exist especially with mental health becoming a greater concern.
A survey conducted by Stanford university found 56% of students considered that homework is a primary source of stress, and that too much homework could result in the following: lack of sleep, headaches, exhaustion, and finally weight loss.

Homework deprives youngsters the right to leisure. Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child states the following: “That every child has the right to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities.
