Cancel Belfast St. Patrick's Day due to coronavirus risk

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

We would like the Government or Parliament to enforce this action due to the growing fear among community. The ability to focus or concentrate is affected in addition to the growing fears of the Corona-virus.
In our view, the government and health officials around the world are more 'reactive' rather than 'proactive'. We would like the government to force councils to cancel St. Patrick's Day celebrations in the coming weeks or as soon as possible, in addition to taking necessary actions to prevent further spread.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The parade has now been cancelled.

In any case, this isn't a matter for the UK Government or Parliament, but for the local authority in Belfast.
