Petition · past parliament

End the coronavirus mass hysteria. Governments are over reacting to coronavirus.

What the petition asks

This is caused by, and is fueling mass hysteria. The 1% death rate that is always mentioned is not at all accurate and is a somewhat meaningless number as we do not have data on the number of people who are infected but have only mild symptoms or no symptoms.
These people are likely to not be counted as they are unlikely to seek testing or hospital treatment. It is possible the number of people in this situation has been hugely underestimated as there is evidence that it has already spread into the general population.

Only the sickest people will get tested or self report themselves to the hospital as having a suspected case of coronavirus and out of these people, more people are likely to die. This is what the 1% figure is actually relevant to

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition asking for the Government not to act to combat coronavirus if that's what you'd like to see happen.
