Enforce full ingredient listing on ALL bread produced by supermarkets & bakers
Rejected
14 signatures
What the petition asks
Allergens are not always readily identified when flour is used eg soya flour added to bread is not identified unless it is prepackaged, so whole unpackaged loves may not provide full listing of contents.
Food provenance & transparency of ingredients is essential to identify & audit trail contents, particularly so for consumers who are allergic.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand you are concerned about allergen labelling, but we're not exactly sure what regulations you would like. For example, whether you would like all loose items to be packaged and individually labelled. Retailers are already required to provide allergen information on request for loose items such as loaves: https://www.food.gov.uk/sites/default/files/media/document/loosefoodsleaflet.pdf
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do
