Petition · past parliament

To not prolong GCSE and A-Level Examinations despite the spread of COVID-19.

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

Government/Parliament should make sure that GCSE and A-Level students have secure dates for their examinations and that, especially with the high levels of stress pupils are already under, they can do the exams under the originally planned dates.
It is necessary that the young students have some certainty amidst the difficult lead up to exams: it is not only important for their results but for their mental health too. The delay of exams may jeopardise and hinder the students’ performance in the next stages of their education, which could affect their futures in the long-term.
I am positive there is a better way to safely stop the spread of COVID-19, whilst helping our students through this harrowing time.
Thank you.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Decisions about exams are a matter for exam boards and individual schools, and are not a matter for the UK Government or Parliament.
