What the petition asks
Have laws in place where if there is a social media platform they have to make sure it’s all backed up and can be retrieved by the police.
Social media apps such as Snapchat and Instagram allow messages to be automatically deleted.
There are cases of children being sent inappropriate messages, but the police are unable to retrieve evidence. Some users of these apps are deliberately choosing to use them because they are untraceable.
We need to be able to protect our children. This needs to be changed.
