Government starts encouraging public wearing masks

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Government starts encouraging public wearing masks and also manufacturers to set up masks production line. Moreover, government spares no effort to procure the masks all over the world
As I have read the data graph about coronavirus of Professor Mark Handley from UCL. The trend of coronavirus in UK is very similar to Italy. And the graph shows that the trend line of Japan is different to other European countries, I believe it is because the public in Japan has high awareness of wearing masks to prevent the spread of virus.
I think it is urgent for the government to take actions, otherwise, UK has to lockdown the country like Italy

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
