Refund merchant service charges on refunded transactions.

What the petition asks
Petition card issuers to refund merchant service charges when refunds are processed for cancelled holidays or other services and products.
With thousands of card refunds being processed in the travel industry (and other sectors) due to the Corona Virus, agents and operators are losing large amounts of money as they are charged for the original transaction and then charged again to process a refund. We are asking that any charges are refunded to the merchant in this instance.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The Government is not responsible for Merchant Service Charges, these are set by banks,
You could start a petition asking the Government to encourage banks to waive these charges for refunds relating to coronavirus, or to set up a fund to reimburse companies that lose money to these charges as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
