Provide live BSL interpretation for coronavirus briefings from the PM.

Closed 176 signatures

What the petition asks

Much like the majority of coronavirus statements in Parliament, the Government should provide live British Sign Language interpretation for briefings about the coronavirus outbreak which take place in Downing Street.
As the coronavirus outbreak continues, it’s vital that every member of the public receives clear and accessible information on how to protect themselves and stop the spread of the virus. It is therefore unacceptable that Prime Ministerial briefings from Downing Street are broadcast without British Sign Language interpretation, making the information inaccessible to deaf people.

Deaf charities are working hard to translate information as it is shared, but the Government must take the lead.
