10 deaths from Covid19, 6,507 from suicide (2018): invest more in mental health

What the petition asks
Debate why there has been such a strong reaction & investment in trying to manage Covid-19, yet we continue to ignore the mental health crisis sweeping the nation / world. With services, in particular children's services, underfunded, overstretched & failing to contain this pandemic.
The numbers tell the story (both of deaths by covid-19 vs suicide, & the no.s of people living with these conditions on a day to day basis). Current lack of debate and long term investment reflects the on going stigma towards mental health. With the no.s of referrals & the severity of patient need increasing year on year, we need to take action now to help improve the lives, & therefore community stability/wellbeing & economic productivity of individuals, communities & the nation as a whole.
