Create legislation requiring employers to have Mental Health First Aiders
Closed
30 signatures
What the petition asks
Create legislation that requires employers to have/provide training for Mental Health First Aiders as part of all Health and Safety in the Workplace policies. This should apply to employers who have a certain number of employees, the same as is for Physical First Aiders requires.
Because 1 in 4 people worldwide suffer from Mental Health and there should be more help for employees. The requirement for Mental Health First Aiders in a workplace should be mandatory not optional. We spend most of our lives at work and the stresses of work can and does contribute to poor Mental Health. Employers should therefore be required by law to provide this assistance.
