What the petition asks
When a prison sentence has been deemed the correct punishment then the term handed out should be the minimum term served before parole or release. No more half measures, set the punishment and carry it out. 6 years means a minimum 6 years not 3.
Prison sentences are to be a punishment and a deterrent, the current sentencing and serving only half the term is a mockery, it is not a deterrent, it is not punishment, the sentence issued needs to be taken seriously, and a life sentence should be life.
We need to have a judicial system that impacts our society, that gives us protection and JUSTICE, a sentence is handed out on behalf of the people to protect the people, HMRC don't say your bill is £400 and you can only pay £200
