Introduce Universal Basic Income for the duration of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Introducing Universal Basic income (UBI) for all UK citizens will ensure that everybody has enough money and resource to remain at home or self isolate. Avoiding issues with people potentially spreading the virus while out working when they should be remaining at home.
This could be used as a sort of trial period. If it goes well, the UK Government can look at implementing it long term.

A weekly or monthly payment of a sum to be decided based upon need paid to every UK citizen will ultimately help slow the problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent reluctance to self isolate.
