Include Breast feeding women to criteria when testing for potential Coronavirus

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Include breastfeeding women in the testing criteria for possible coronavirus.
Breastfeeding mums should be tested. The reason behing it is science. Immunity/antibodies is passed from mum to baby when the mums immune system is triggerd. If a breastfeeding mum contracts coronavirus and then recovers her breast milk will include these antibodies naturally to protect her baby/aid her baby to recover if they already have it too.
Therefore breastmilk may offer antibodies to those most vulnerable now.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The conduct of tests is a clinical decision for the NHS, not the UK Government or Parliament.

We have published a petition calling for the Governemnt to provide publicly accessible testing for coronavirus around the UK, which you might want to sign: Provide publicly accessible testing for the covid-19 virus around the UK now.
