Petition · past parliament

All people with health conditions to self-isolate even if no Covid19 symptoms.

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

Pass a law so that old/vulnerable people or people with existing health conditions who may get severely affected by Coronavirus are legally obliged to self isolate even if no symptoms.
At the same time leave all public events / schools and rest of society functioning as always as much as possible.
Above measures will mean the effect of Corona virus on general society and economy will be minimised protecting lots of jobs and businesses.
Also the problem of corona virus mainly affects this vulnerable group which will be taken care of.
Government can focus on just treating this vulnerable group from the virus thus focusing its resources on where they are required most.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Since you started your petition the Government has advised against unnecessary social contact, and said this is particularly important for those with some health conditions: https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/pm-statement-on-coronavirus-16-march-2020

We have also published a petition calling on the Government to implement a UK lockdown for preventing spread of COVID19, which you might like to sign: Implement UK lockdown for preventing spread of COVID19
