Allow workers at higher risk of serious illness from COVID-19 to stay home

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

Workers with higher risk of serious illness from CODVID-19 should be allowed to stay home or, at least, be differentiated from their colleagues.
Some people are at much higher risk of serious illness and mortality from COVID-19 than others.
Although senior citizens are the most affected group, many young people and adults are also at great risk. However, if one is part of the workforce they aren’t able to protect themselves properly nor can distance themselves from others because of their role in society.
People at greater risk:
-Elderly
-Heart diseases
-Diabetes
-Lung diseases

Why it was rejected

Since you started your petition the Government has advised the public to start working from home if they possibly can: https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/pm-statement-on-coronavirus-16-march-2020

We have published a petition calling on the Government to consider closing down offices/businesses and order people to work from home: Businesses to work from home for an appropriate amount of time amidst COVID19
