Increase of statutory sick pay based on how much you need to live comfortably

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

SSP is £94.25 per week amounting to an average of £377 a month, realistically who can survive on this amount?
There are many families that will struggle with this and especially with children being off school that will put the family in a situation where they are going hungry!
Due to the coronavirus many more people are being forced to stay at home even if they have mild/slight symptoms of the condition and many companies will not pay full sick pay but certain companies are paying staff in full but it should be equal for everyone it doesn’t matter if you are self-employed nail technician or manager at a supermarket it should be fair for everyone.
There should be a scheme where calculations are done to see how much that person needs to survive and are given that amount!
