What the petition asks
Tell Boris not to delay them!
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The Government has announced the closures of all schools and colleges to most students, but decisions about exams are a matter for exam boards and individual educational institutions, and are not a matter for the UK Government or Parliament.
The Government has said that the exam regulator, Ofqual, and exam boards will work with teachers to provide grades to students whose exams have been cancelled this summer: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-school-closures/guidance-for-schools-about-temporarily-closing
We have published a petition calling on the Government to stop schools being closed unnecessarily over fears of coronavirus, which you might like to sign: Stop schools being closed unnecessarily over fears of coronavirus (Covid-19)
