Freeze rent/mortgage payments (especially for people on SSP) due to COVID-19

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

This petition calls on Government to suspend rent and mortgage payments until the pandemic is at a less critical stage.
Many workers who are hourly paid especially are going to be hit hard by the recent pandemic. Many are facing a cut to their hours and thus experiencing a sharp reduction in their finances which is especially bad for the many living paycheck to paycheck. As a result, and as we have seen in the news, there is an increased risk in people continuing to go to work even with symptoms thus risking other people’s health simply because they cannot afford to pay bills and afford food living off of SSP.

Why it was rejected
