What the petition asks

All debt repayments should be suspended until the Corona Virus Crisis is over, all credit rating agencies to be suspended until Coronavirus is over. It is manifestly unfair for people to get into debt and have their credit ratings downgraded when debt is caused by a mass epidemic.

It is totally unfair and immoral that ordinary people should be penalised for not repaying debt at a time when only the rich can afford to do so we have the lowest pension and sick pay in the civilised world. Stop all debt repayments and direct debits until after this crisis is over.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Collection of debts is a matter for individual lenders, not the Government or Parliament.
