What the petition asks
We would like the government and Rt Hon Gavin Williamson Secretary of State for Education to at least consider how students and parents are feeling at such a stressful time, there should be an ongoing discussion on how students can be supported.
We would like the Government or Parliament to enforce cancelling all exams in this academic year due to the stress and anxiety of the ongoing pandemic. The ability to focus or concentrate is affected in addition to the growing fears of the Corona-virus. having students sits test will result in more spread of the virus. We hope to come to an agreement as soon as possible in a timely manner.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Decisions about exams are a matter for exam boards and individual educational institutions, and are not a matter for the UK Government or Parliament.
